Why do people enjoy being so negative?

I will never understand. I love making people happy, and i've never been able to understand why some people are so mean for no reason. 😭

The age old saying " misery likes company" is way more accurate than most people think.

The way you treat other people is a direct reflection of how you feel about yourself.

Some of it as well is because this is social media. While I may say something and not be an a$$ about it someone else make take it offensive. There's no way to set a tone on the internet.

I don't really get it, either. But from what I've seen, it often seems to relate to low self-esteem and dissatisfaction with one's own life. 
But it takes SO much less energy to be nice and positive. I feel like people just exhaust themselves with all the negativity.
