Another view.. Why do we celebrate Christmas?
We celebrate Christmas on December 25, and Christmas is the celebration of Jesus’ birth – but we don’t know if Jesus was born on December 25.Way back then, no one was keeping a record of birthdays like we do now. In the early church days (in 336 AD), a church leader decided to make December 25 the day for the Christ’s Mass (Christmas). Even though we don’t know the exact day Jesus was born, the second chapter of Luke tells us lots of other things about Jesus’ birth. But more important than how Jesus was born is why Jesus was born - to bring his people back into relationship with God and remove the sins that keep them apart. Let’s pray and thank God for sending His son to save us.
