Should women take the name of their husband?

🎼
I think everyone should be free to making their own choice, but personally I think giving up your name is an archaic and obsolete social gesture that doesn't have the same significance it did in history.
What are your thoughts?
(Background: I have been married for 3 years and still own my maiden name. My husband is indifferent, as he is not fond of his name anyway, because his biological father abandoned my 14-year-old mother in-law, then never bothered to be a part of his son's life. On top of that, I don't desire to do the paperwork to change my name, and I am rather attached to my maiden name, I take pride in my lineage.)
Also, if you are married and kept your maiden name, what are your reasons? If you did change it, what are the reasons you changed your name? I'm curious.
