5 year olds responsibility?

What do your 5 year olds have to do or should be able to do?

I have a 5 year old stepson, I'm not sure if its because I wasn't with him threw the baby stage but I expect more out of him than my husband. Within the last 6 months just started to bathe himself and dress himself. The only thing he "has" to do is pick up his toys. Even then he throws them in a pile and calls it a day. I've bought cubbies for the toys but my husband thinks I'm being too pickie.

What's the "normal" things a 5yo should be able/expected to do on his own?
