Is the left side really the best side?

I've always heard that it's best to sleep on your left side, but sometimes I feel so comfortable on my right side. What does all of your obs say?

The left side is recommended because is causes increased blood flow to the baby. However you don't have to sleep that way if it's uncomfortable. Either side is absolutely fine, the left is just a bit better because of the blood flow benefits.

I always heard its best to sleep on your right. There are many scientific experiments that show sleeping on your right side is better that left. I heard it also allows for better blood flow.

The left side was easy to do when baby was the size of a banana .. But now that's she's pretty much term (38 weeks) the left side is uncomfortable 😭 & I literally can feel I am on her - the left side has been her side since day 1 - seriously since the first ultrasound at 8 weeks 😂

I think any position that is comfortable & you can breathe okay, you're fine!

My doc said left side in third trimester

My doctor told me whatever side I can sleep on and be comfortable is ok. So either side is fine.

I hardly ever do because it pinches a nerve and makes my stomach numb. My doctor said I can sleep in any position as long as it's comfortable. My body will give me signs when something is wrong.

Just passed 10 weeks and I cramp when sleeping on my left side...maybe because baby implanted there? I prefer my back or right side now. (Used to be a stomach and left side sleeper.)

My OB says if I can sleep that way go for it. 
Left is recommended because of how your circulatory system is set up- they actually tell cardiac patients NOT to sleep that way. I think it's increased blood flow, which is good for the placenta but not necessarily good for patients who have had recent trauma to the heart.
