passies and breastfeeding ???

Question

Mommies who Plan on bf... did you introduce passies right away?

What's the best brand? ...... if I end up bottle feeding should I wait so the passie brand matches bottle brand or does it matter... am I just over thinking it lol

...due in couple weeks haven't bought passies for this reason..... do you bring them to the hospital with you?

I didnt introduce a pacifier- they say if your breastfeeding to hold off on it till bf is established  ( till you and baby get the hang of it and its all just routine lol)

If you bottle feed im dont think the brand matters.
My hospital promotes breastfeeding so youd have to bring the pacifier to the hospital if you wanted to use it right away although babys are pretty tired after birth lol

At the hospital they recommended it introducing pacifiers for atleast a few weeks till breastfeeding is well established so that they will eat properly. I never used them with my exclusively breastfed youngest child.

We introduced at one day because she had to have tons of testing on her heart and it was the only way she would stay still. We are still breastfeeding and she is 19 days old. We use the mam pacifiers

I'm breastfeeding my 4 month old. We didn't introduce a pacifier until maybe 1 month. She wouldn't take it. I tried again again maybe around 2 months and she finally took it. We use a MAM. =) Supposedly, it can cause nipple confusion if it's introduced too early... but I think if the LO is hungry, they'll spit it out!

My hospital will help you either breastfeed or bottle feed depending on your choice.  That being said, my hospital actually provides you one 0-3 Philips Avent Soothie pacifier (California).  My nephew took the pacifier, breast, AND a bottle from day 1, no confusion.  My niece HATED pacifiers, took both breast and bottle (thrush was an issue though, so she didn't breastfeed for long), and then my Godsons both took pacifiers for the first 3 months, plus breastfeeding and a bottle.

I breastfed all 3 if my kiddos. All 3 of mine took MAM. With the first,  we didn't know better,  and introduced the paci in the hospital.  They provided them back then (13 years ago). With my second,  we only lasted about 3 days lol no nipple confusion with either kiddo. With my 3rd, she never took one. We tried several different brands, she never liked them. At around 8 months,  she found one mixed in with her toys and she knew exactly what to do with it lol
