what do you think happens in the afterlife?

I personally don't believe in heaven or hell. To me it doesn't seem logical that there is a place somewhere in the sky or whatever where we all go. I do believe that spirits exist somehow someway. I'm not sure how though. This has been on my mind a lot lately and I was just wondering what everyone here believes in.

Rebutting your opinion, I believe in Heaven and Hell. They're both very much real in my eyes. After death, I strongly hold that one either is sent to be with God and Jesus or with the Devil. Sorry not sorry.

Energy never dies, I believe when we die our energy is put back into the universal flow and "we" become reborn into this world. Maybe not as people.... but something. I'm Pagan (and a bit of a Universalist) so I believe in a divine feminine and divine masculine, I have no names for them other than Mother and Father. I believe in Karma, good/bad energy, animal lover, tree hugger, astrological sway, etc.

Nothing and everything. We get thrown back into the universe of spiritual world or whatever you wanna call it. There is no "after" life because that would assume that we are on a time line. There is no such thing as time. Time was a measurement tool invented by man. Everything and anything is happening all at once. We just don't realize it.

When my son died, I experienced some very real and undeniable faith builders that Heaven is real. I also believe in Hell; but I believe that God is merciful and gracious and that it will be very difficult and rare to be sent to Hell.

I like the Hindu and Budhist explanation of this. The Ottman (probably spelled wrong) is the essence of life, when we live we form an ego around this essence. This would be our personality and what we say defines who we are. When we die the ego is stripped and the life essence moves on.

Another example would be a glass of water and an ocean. The glass is unique and defined. But once poured into the ocean it is part of the whole, inseparable and indistinguishable. You cannot reassemble to glass content exactly after merging with the ocean.

Inpersonally don't believe in an afterlife or reincarnation but I like these reasonings more than others I have come across.

Well I believe in a Heaven and Hell. I believe in Jesus, God, and the Devil. I am a Christian. I myself do not understand people who do not believe in anything. People with other religions have there own beliefs on how the world was created. I just completely resent the accusation that we evolved from other animals. I don't understand how the Big Bang could have created everything and all the diversity that comes with this world. The only answer to me is that God created all of us and everything. He gave us free will. And example of other religions being created is the story of Ishmael where Abraham was told by God he would have many sons. Sarah, abrahams wife, thought that since she could not bear children told Abraham to go and sleep with her handmaiden. The handmaiden became pregnant and bore Ishmael which is where the Islam religion starts. This was a sin to sleep with someone other than his wife. Sarah later becomes pregant with Issac. If Abraham and Sarah would have trusted God and not try to carry matters in their own hands then the Islam religion would not have been. There are many opinions on religion but I don't understand atheist who don't believe in anything. My questions to those people would be is "what if your wrong and u die and have to face God?" "What excuses will u give Him?"  Based on your "belief" as an atheist is that if I'm wrong then nothing happens to me I'm just gone. But if I'm right and ur wrong then what?

For the most part, I'm really think that we're all going to just be dead and that's it. We don't remember a time before our consciousness so I feel that once you die the conscious part of the brain shuts off as does the rest of our bodies and that's it. However sometimes I feel almost that maybe another part of us exists on a higher more advanced demintion and that maybe in a way our lives are like a simulation in a way that feels so real and it's a test we take  to evaluate our selves as a soulful creature rather than one person. If that makes sense? I know it's two very different ideas but I mostly feel that it's my way of thinking of something more "hopeful" but I really mostly believe the first. It's only natural to want to believe in something else. But to be honest I'm pretty sure (in my opinion) that we're just dead. No consciousness just a lifeless body that once had living cells and a conscious functioning brain.
