my crazy birth story

Courtney • I have the most beautiful daughter in the world, Paisley Anabelle 12/8/16 @ 28weeks, 2lbs 5oz! In the NICU going strong!
Okay. Idek where to begin! This is going to be long heads up! Lol. Well I WAS 28 weeks pregnant on December 5, 2016 and I was doing just fine. My due date was February 28, 2017. Well at 3am December 5, 2016 I woke up with the WORST headache I've EVER had & over the past few days I was having some swelling in my life and feet & lower back. So I wanted to go to the hospital for my 3am headache because it was the worst headache ever like I can't even explain. So anyways I took some Tylenol PM and laid in bed and suffered until I fell asleep shortly after my boyfriend went to work at 5am, he wanted to take me to hospital but I told him if it gets worse I'll go. So anyways when I woke up on December 5 my fave was swollen up like a sumo wrestler!!! I knew something wasn't right so I got an appointment with my doctor that day. So me and my boyfriend go to the doctor & they immediately because my blood pressure was insanely high and she said she could just look at me and see signs of preclampsyia. So I went to their hospital and they said they don't deliver under 34 weeks and put me in the ambulance and took me to Forsyth Hospital in WinstonSalem, NC. So I was in the hospital for 3 days with high high blood pressure, extreme swelling with my whole body, low blood pallets, protein in my urine and I was just getting worse. So they made the decision to try to put me in labor, I only dialated to 1cm so they had to do an emergency c section & my babygirl was born on December 8, 2016 at 9:09pm weighing 2lb 5.4oz 15.35inches long at 28 weeks!! Her name is Paisley Anabelle! Well she's in the NICU. She's 3 weeks old today! It's been an emotional rollercoaster, still is very much & very stressful and hard. The second week she was in the NICU, she started developing this serious disease called Necrotizing enterocolitis is a serious disease that occurs when the intestinal tissue become damaged and begins to die. It most often affects premature infants. I BROKE down and was crying for 3 days straight thinking she wasn't going to make it. My whole world was crashing down. But they had her on antibiotics and X-rays and so they caught it in time! They had to stop her feedings and everything. But she's so strong & she pulled through! I couldn't be more proud of my angel. So anyways we were totally unprepared for this it was soooo stressful but we made it and we go see our babygirl everyday 30mins away, but it's worth it to see her smile everyday. She's such a sweetheart I love her so much. It's been crazy but I wouldn't trade it for the world.❤
