31 weeks: Question Everything (Breast Pump Experience)
So funny story... I am requesting my electric breast pump through my insurance, and was finally referred to a third party vendor. Well there were three options - 2 that were 100% covered, and then a third offered as an upgrade at $108. Medela pump In Style Advanced Starter Kit that is. Well I did a quick amazon search and it is offered at $138 on Amazon... new. From medela. What the fudge?!
So I called up my insurance and they referred me to the company that chooses my local third party vendor. They directed me to Medela directly.
Come to find out, with a prescription sent directly to Medela, I can get that same pump free of charge. I can UPGRADE to the Tote/Backpack kit (extra accessories), for $75.75. I can UPGRADE to the Freestyle Handsfree pump for $146.38.
Question EVERYTHING. If I had not have asked I would never have known. It is frustrating, but worth it in the end.
