Is the death penalty the EASY WAY OUT?

DO YOU BELIEVE THE DEATH PENALTY IS THE EASY WAY OUT FOR PRISONERS & a criminal who committed a henious crime should be sentenced to LIFE IN PRISON INSTEAD?

I believe the death penalty is the easy way out for a criminal because it's so quick and then they're done. Instead I believe a criminal should have to spend his or her life in prison. It probably will be many many many years behind bars and that's torture enough & much worse than just being sentenced to death. That's just my opinion, comment below and tell me what you think!

I'm a strong believer that anyone who has committed a terrible crime (murder, rape, etc) should have the same thing done to them as a punishment, plus jail time. A lot of jails now a days are like summer camp and they don't learn a thing.

The death penalty ultimately cost more then to keep a prisoner alive serving a life sentence. The drugs used for the death penalty have been experimental over the last couple of years. With that being said I think no matter how hideous the crime is to kill someone will experimental drugs is inhuman.

How is death and "easier" punishment than serving life?

If you serve life in prison, there is a chance of rehabilitation and early release. That isn't possible if you're dead.

I'm gonna go on a limb here and say no soley on the fact of the family of the victim. Let's say (hypothectically and I would never wish this on someone) that a person decides to molest, rape and kill your 13-14 year old. Now generally if it doesn't warrant a death sentence and only a life in prison without parole this would for the victims family and friends to pay taxes every year to make sure that he is living for free. Albeit is disgusting and horrid in jails but if he has a good enough lawyer he can get placed in one of the nicer high end ones, still this forces the victim's family to pay every year so that he can get free food (even if it's rotten), free shelter (even if it's bad), and in general let him being able to survive in this life for free. Which isn't okay and unfair to me for them.

I don't think it's the easy way out because if they don't get it there is a chance they could somehow end up getting out of jail. Seems like they let a lot of people go who should never see the light of day again. The death penalty its all over. Then nobody has to worry about them ever again and they don't get the chance to hurt anyone else.

They sit on death row for quite a while before they actually get there punishment. Most die from old age, suicide, some get out of it. I don't find it the easy way out because honestly if your crime fits in the guidelines to be put to death I would rather that than have to pay to keep you locked up.
