when are you actually in your second trimester?

Today just turned 13 weeks and it's saying I'm in my second trimester but I looked it up and others are saying when you're 14 weeks then you're in your second trimester so what's true ?? Cause now I'm getting confused

When it comes down to math you divide 40 weeks by 3. Each trimester is then 13 weeks and a few days long. That's how my doc explained it. Second trimester starts at 13 and 2-3 days. That's why there is more often a discussion about wether it is 13 or 14 weeks. It seems everyone has a different say regarding when it it actually starts!?!

My doctor says first trimester ends at 12 weeks, and did my fertility doctor and all his nurses.  The chart makes sense though so it's up to your own personal decision I guess.
