where's my big girls with naval piercings?!

I'm a sorta big girl when it comes to my stomach, and my mom just toke me to get my belly button pierced and I don't want it to look bad. Or any health reasons to go bad. Please comment some advice for me, and comment your piercings too!

Care and upkeep for a person is the same no matter their weight. As someone who got theirs done within the last couple of years and had some difficulty, here's my advice: Keep it clean. Use a pre-made saline solution every day, twice a day, I used a wound wash from Walgreens that worked miracles when I had to basically re-pierce it one night after a Renn Faire. Bathe with an unscented soap/body wash, Dove's intense moisture with the dark blue lid has worked wonders for me, especially since I'm really sensitive downstairs so it doesn't irritate anything. Don't play with it and don't change it out too soon, the temptation will be there, but that just ups the risk of infection. I would wait at least six months before you change the jewelry out for another piece, but depending on how your body heals, it might be longer. If you tend to sweat a lot or your belly button collects a lot of lint, clean it out regularly. And you can always wash it more often if you're sweating or if it gets infected, but I wouldn't clean it more often than 4x a day.

If you have any other concerns, talk to your piercer. They're always the best person to ask for advice about the work they've done and they might be able to give you more advice. It'll look a little red for the next week or so, but it's healing, so just keep an eye on it.
