Why use disposables over cloth?

YOUR OPINION.

I'm on the fence about disposables vs. cloth. Originally I was set on cloth and I have started my stash (nearly done and can resell if need because I bought second hand) but now that birth is approaching this year I'm half hearted. I've heard and read stories on why people love cloth diapering so I don't want to hear that. I want to hear why you will be using are have used disposables.

Convenience!! I don't have time or energy to wash diapers. Nor do I want to. I'd rather spend that time with my baby and toddler.

First and foremost-- I don't want to wash shitty diapers. Otherwise-- I do enough laundry already. They take up a ton of space in the diaper bag. If you plan to use daycare, some won't do cloth diapers. When you wash them, in order to do it properly and make sure they're actually clean, you have to run them through the washing machine TWICE, which equates to a larger utility bill and more time to do it. If you go on vacation for more than a few days and don't have a washer at your hotel, then what? Some diaper creams and whatnot are not safe for cloth diapers. When you're out and change a diaper, you have to hold on to it and carry a cloth full of pee or poop in your bag until you get back home. If you buy a certain type of cloth diaper, and decide you don't like prefolds or all in ones or pockets or whatever you bought, you then have to start ALL OVER instead of just buying a different pack next time. I could go on. But there's no way in hell anyone would ever convince me to cloth diaper. Nope nope nope.

I wish disposable diapers were more environmentally friendly but I cannot bring myself to wash cloth diapers - it just grosses me out. To me, once something had been peed or pooped in the only place for it is the garbage!

Convenience is why I plan to do disposable. I'm having twins. Anything I can make easier, I plan to make easier.

the fact that I did the math and the amount of times I'd have to do laundry would mean any money I saved not buying diapers would be spent washing them. If I'm paying the same amount either way, might as well have the convenience of disposable diapers

I use mainly cloth but also disposable sometimes too. The reason I like to use disposable sometimes is so he can fit into certain clothes just a liiiiitle while longer. Fluff butts are so big 😜 Also sometimes when I'm on the go and unprepared with my cloth diapers I will use disposable.

for me it's all about convenience! disposable all the way, then anyone can change him/her, babysit, easier to do in public, etc. but it's all a matter of opinion :) Why not give both a try?

Convenience is the only reason, as well as not having access to a washer. Disposables are awful for the environment and very expensive when you add the total cost up over the years. Cloth are environmentally friendly, and I only spent $100 on all I'll need for the next two years. That being said, you spend a bit more on laundry soap, and you have to wash them every other day which can be annoying sometimes but easy.

Why use disposables over cloth?
