If you're from outside the southern US, do you have a tradition of eating pork, black eyed peas, greens and cornbread on New Year's Day?

I have seen some stuff that tries to claim it's a southern tradition because black eyes peas kept the confederate army from starving, cornbread is symbolized as gold and when wheat ran low southerners added corn to it to make it go farther, greens symbolize money and pork symbolizes prosperity. Just wondering if it's a thing elsewhere for different reasons! We didn't have pork but we had fried rabbit, black eyed peas with chow chow relish, fried (sautéed) cabbage, and cornbread! I've eaten the New Year's Day foods my entire life so it's just something you do around here lol
