Malaria/Zika?

Question

My partner and I want to travel during my pregnancy (Maldives, Japan, Africa, Bahamas, New York, LA, Indonesia) and as you can see some of our destinations carry a risk of Zika or Malaria.

Have you travelled anywhere? Should we just visit places that carry Zika post-pregnancy? Can I take anti-malaria pills whilst pregnant?

I'd wait microcephaly isn't a joke my oldest daughter has it and I always wonder what I could of done differently even though I didn't do anything wrong. If I had gone out and traveled I wouldn't of forgave myself for the way she is. Be smart go other places or stay home

The CDC has a list of anti-malaria meds and their restrictions, some are ok for pregnancy but they come with other side effects.  
Personally, if it were me I'd wait to travel- I threw up every day until like 20 weeks.  Adding new foods and travel stress plus the chance for diseases that aren't as preventable... sounds like hell.

That's a question for your doctor. But he will probably tell you not to go bc of the risk and the fact that you may not be able to get the proper vaccines to prevent the risk of certain diseases/infections.
