New Year's Eve labor story warning TMI
So finally started having light contractions around 7pm on the 30th 40wk 4d. I wanted a natural labor and wanted to labor mostly at home. Well when I started to feel the pain I decided to head to L&D. Got check out said I was only 3cm and my pains had pretty much gone away so was sent home. I was only 1 cm at my app the previous day.
Returned home and took a bath. Relax on my yoga ball and had a lay down. Water broke gushed. At 11.30pm jumped in the shower until it calmed down. Head to the hospital and got there around 1am. By this time I was having regular strong contractions. By the time I was in the labor room my contractions were unbearable so I decided to have an epidural. Which was given to me around 10mins after I asked and was sweet relief. I slept for the next 6 to 8 hours until I started to feel pressure then it was time to push. Within 30mins he was born everything seemed to easy. I even told my husband that didn't really hurt and everything seemed to go so smooth. Well jump forwar 6 hrs.
I was now in a mother baby room and decided to go take a shower I was not in any pain just a little sore I had no tearing I was lucky. As I got out the shower I started to bleed quite a lot I just thought it was normal I shoved a towel inbetween my legs and it soak though within a few mins. I got dressed and sat on the bed. Nurse said I had to feed the baby as his sugar was low I held him for 30 seconds before I was taken over by massive pain and blood loss. Within a min the whole room was filled with people alarms were buzzing and I was bleeding out on the bed. The shoved me with IVs shot and pain killers and was told I was being taken to the OR so they could find out what was going on. I woke up dazed and thankful to be alive it was really that serious! I had some membranes that were left inside I passed a clot bigger then my placenta and lost 2 liters of blood. I had a transfusion and antibiotics and had to stay in bed for another day. Healing was painful and breast feeding was very hard. But I'm finally home with my son now and couldn't be happier!
