What would you do if you knew your SO was uncomfortable with idea of you going out dancing with your friends this weekend but you really want to go?

I don't know what to do because I haven't been out in a while and I know he can't go and he seemed annoyed when I brought it up earlier, but I'm only going to dance and maybe help set my friend up.

Why is he uncomfortable about it? You're going with your friends to have some fun. He's worried because there will be other males in the same room as you? Sounds controlling. Why doesn't he trust you?

Try to encourage him to go do something fun with his buddies as well. And try and figure out what the real reason is of why he doesn't want you to go. Does he trust you? Unless the reason is a good reason for you not going, I'd say he needs to suck it up and get over it.

Think of it as how you'd react if he wants to do something you don't like. What would you expect him to do.

See if you can compromise. Let him express his concerns and then try to meet him halfway. What if you decide on a time you can call him yo check in?  Or maybe he'd feel better if he could drive you guys. Let him drop you and your friend off and pick you up at an agreed upon time.  If it's because you're going out with a friend who's single, try to get another girlfriend who's in a steady relationship to join. It's not fair for him to insist you don't go, but it's also not fair for you to go without trying to ease his mind.

He might be afraid of what is going to happen at the party, if guys will dance with you, etc. He's your boyfriend so he can't tell you what and what not to do, but that doesn't mean you should lie to him and go anyways. Ignoring him is a bad idea too because that could cause an unwanted fight. You need to find a compromise and see why he feels this way.
