I don't think it makes baby sleepy. Just relaxes baby. If my baby is being really fussy and fighting her sleep. I give her a warm bath in lavender baby shampoo and then give her night time gripe water and she calms down to where I can soothe and rock her to sleep! I usually hum rock a bye baby to her and pat her back after the gripe water and lavender bath and she knocks out for the rest of the night! Lol
