Grunting baby??

The last few days I've noticed that my LO is grunting more and more. He has pooped twice this evening which canceled out trying to go.. he just had a bottle and I don't think it's cause hes full because he has been doing it on and off for the whole evening. Whibelse has a grunting baby?? It's bothering me so bad because I can't figure out the cause!!

Some baby's grunt as a form of communication. They obviously can't form words yet so they will grunt,babble, coo etc. If your baby has already pooped and doesn't seem to be in pain from gas, then he's probably just trying to communicate with you. They do it more as they get older because they realize they're making sounds on their own.

How old is your baby? When mine was just a few weeks old he began grunting too. He was trying to pass gas. Their digestive systems aren't mature yet. So it's hard. Also, I've heard the theory that they haven't yet learned to tense the muscles in the pelvic floor and abdomen needed to push a toot out while at the same time relaxing their anus. That sounds like hard work for sure! Hence the grunting.
