membrane sweep

doctor checked my cervix today and told me I was 3 cm dilated and that he was going to stretch my cervix a bit. Then he sent me to labor and delivery for high blood pressure. Doctor on call (who is my primary OB) asked if he done a membrane sweep and said he told me he was stretching my cervix and he asked if it felt like he was trying to reach my tonsils. Lol which it hurt a whole hell of a lot! Excuse my language but my husband said my whole face turned red! Anyways does this sound like a membrane sweep? I have had contractions since I left the hospital! Real ones with cramps.
