Does sexist behavior bother you?

Does it bother you when your boyfriend or male friend makes a sexist joke or laughs at one?

This is complicated to answer because I believe the things you find funny also determine your maturity and your true opinions. So yeah a guy could just be trying to be funny in a harmless way, but sometimes there's really no way of knowing if it's more than just a joke.

Yes, it does. If it's really annoying, I will explain to him why it's sexist and that he can't say that. He's usually pretty good with stuff but I don't stand for anything offensive.
Its honestly soooo hot when he says feminist things or mentions how something else is sexist! Like damn, it's mind boggling to see a guy do that!

Absolutely. And before my boyfriend and I were official he understood that I was not tolerant of such jokes or behavior nor would I condone any toxic hypermasculinity issues of his. Understand those issues because of how he was raised etc. yes. But that doesn't mean it's okay or should have to be tolerated because it's harmful to both of us.

My boyfriend is a proud feminist, and I don't think I could date someone who wasn't. He occasionally says things that are problematic, but when he does that I point it out and he apologises and we talk more about it if we need to. He really doesn't make jokes that are just plain offensive, because he's realized that there are a ton of way better ways to be funny.
When other guys do it, including my dad, it drives me crazy. I want to always speak up and say something but a lot of times I don't even know where to start, so I just end up ranting to my boyfriend about it later.

Depends on my mood. I have a quick and smart mouth and a lot of sass. Before my guy and I started dating I was with some of his friends and one said that a woman's job was to make sandwiches and babies. It came down to taking care of your man and catering to him. Not that you didn't have the right to work etc. After a huge arguement. Either I laugh it off. Roll my eyes. Or get in a huge fight. Just depends on my mood.

Depends what it is. A lot of the time they're really immature and not even funny. One time my bf was being an idiot in front of his mates and told me to "go make him a sandwich". Right after he said it I pushed up on the bottom of the glass he was drinking out of and it split his lip. Whoops. That was an accident but since then he hasn't told me to go make any sandwiches 😂

Yes. Since I began dating my boyfriend, he's learned a lot about the feminist movement and sexism. He was immature when we first meet (we were teenagers) so it wasn't unusual for him to make a sexist joke. Two years later, he doesn't make them anymore. 👏

It most definitely does. No one should degrade anyone. I'm reasonable about it sometimes if it's just a joke, but most of the time, no. Racist and sexist jokes are totally uncalled for. Worst of all are rape jokes though. If a man says a rape joke, I'm instantly turned off.

If he's in high school, he's being an idiot. He probably won't stop because his friends think it's too funny, but still tell him that it bothers you and that it's not funny. If a guy over the age of 18 is still making stupid immature sexist jokes, why are you with him? He really should be mature enough at that point to stop something that you don't like, especially if it's just something he says.

No it doesn't bother me if I know he truly doesn't mean it. But if he did I'd set em straight lol but I laugh at sexists jokes but it doesn't mean I agree with them. Lol
