Masterbation?

Is it normal for a woman to masterbate? I am married and we have sex when we can, not every night, but we do have an active sex life. But there are days while he is at work that I have the urge. He doenst know that i do this or have done it, partly because im embarresed. So I'm just wondering if this is normal.
