I'm going to join my local crossfit gym.. is it worth the money? Tell me your experience please

Ok --- I am a total Crossfit convert right here. I started out doing traditional gym workouts and after 3 years I got bored. So I tried Crossfit and I fell in love!!

A. You just show up and do what you're told. No need to plan your own workouts or walk around the gym aimlessly.

B. You have a coach at all times monitoring your form and making sure you are lifting/performing correctly.

C. The workouts vary so much I don't get bored with the same routines (like back and bis, legs, chest, etc).

I got super fit and am still going at 34 weeks pregnant! I even got my CF-L1 and starting coaching at my box I love it so much.

Crossfit isn't really a new thing, they combined movements from existing methodologies and use them to create workouts which generate intensity. It's in the intensity where the results live.

Okay - if your crossfit box's trainer is even worth the money, they SHOULD be making you take an introductory class (which was 1 on 1 at mine) where they TEACH you proper form not only in lifting, but other forms too.
 
Afterwards trainers and other box members help keep an eye out for proper form.  Be prepared to be called out if you are not using proper form.  
 
You are NOT proned to injuries in crossfit overnother workouts unless we are comparing running on a treadmill only...  proper form helps you protect yourself.  If your box doesn't put that first - run.
 
That being said, I have PCOS and this was one of the few ways I DID lose weight.  Be sure to make friends inside the box as it makes workouts more enjoyable.  Our box was like a small family, hahaha.

I loved it when I was doing it before I moved. I did the whole gym training and eventually got bored with it. However my advice. Don't settle for a gym. These "over priced" gyms just care about your money and sadly don't care about their members form. It's ok to shop around don't ever let a gym pressure you into signing up. I went through about 4 gyms before I found the one for me. Now and days most popular gyms felt like a cult for me and you can just tell their were favorites and drama upon walking in. I'd look for the mom and pop shops. Those are the guys who are trying to build their company name and really take pride in what they do.

Invest in knee wraps and a belt. Be careful because you're more prone to injuries.

Get a trainer and learn to lift properly otherwise you'll injury yourself and not do much good. I know my bf is a personal trainer and he says cross fit is a joke and poor form

I loved when I did cross fit. It was a fast intense way of getting in shape. Only downside is that it's $$.
