when's the right time...

When did everyone first buy their baby items? When is the right time to buy? Do you wait until 12 weeks when the risk of MC drops? I'm overly excited and have been told to wait and not buy anything but I think if I buy a few things each move it won't be as expensive.. what's people's thoughts ?
