Tell me your experience please!

So I really want to get on birth control again. Either the pill or shot. I wanna know the side effects of the pill, like acne/hormones/health? I don't care about gaining weight, I need to gain weight anyways lol. And I know all about the depo shot, I was on it for 3 years. I became depressed &crazy and lost my sex drive. I also had a period for 7 months straight after missing the shot for a day. If I got the shot again, is it possible that it would be different? It's been over a year since I was on it.
