Today I went to the doctor to get the results for my blood test back. I went to a different doctor because I was looking for a full time doctor for this pregnancy. Everything came back good except a possible UTI and a high white blood cell count. The doctor was great! Very informative and helped with a lot of my stress and worries. He told me that once you've seen the baby on screen with a heart beat that the risk of a miscarriage decreases significantly. He let me know that the cramps I had been feeling were most probably just from me growing, as he had a feel of my stomach and could tell it was firm. He also told me that I'm doing everything I right to ensure my baby is healthy and that anything that happens from here on just comes down to fate. He made me feel so much better and I can't explain how relieved I am.
Also today my partner told his daughter she's going to be a big sister. Being 3 she couldn't really understand properly but I'm sure when I start growing a bit she will be more inquisitive. He also told his step dad, which to my surprise he seems okay about it. We are still yet to tell his little brother as bub will be exactly 12 weeks the day of his birthday :)
Can't wait for more ultrasounds and growing. I've learnt so much already and can feel myself falling in love with this baby more and more every day and every post from Glow I see.
I still have my fears though. There is still the 12 week mark and the 20 week mark to look forward to yet. Then from there it's the worrying about labour and stillbirth. Then once bub is born it's the stress of doing everything perfectly and safely and protecting him or her from everything and cot death. Don't even get me started on the toddler, child and teenage years 😭😅 but the truth is regardless we are all going to worry and stress and want to make sure everything's okay. It's a part of parenthood and becoming a parent.
