It's 27 degrees here and we keep our heater on at 72. Anything higher or lower is uncomfortable. Try leaving the heater on when you are away too so you don't have to set it to 78 to get the temp back up in your house. It's working over time basically when it could've just been maintaining the temp you wanted.
