Why does my 19day old baby stretch so much

She sometimes seems to be straining as if to poop or just stretching her back and arching the back. What is this about?

Answer

The arching of the back can actually be a sign of acid reflux. Arching can help alleviate the pain and discomfort of if that's what it is. Does she spit up a lot? Does she make strange faces sometimes as if something is yucky tasting in her mouth? Does she seem to cry for no reason or after a feeding? If you answer yes to any of these, mention the symptoms to your pediatrician. Both my daughters had acid reflux and it can be awful for them, but it's very treatable.

Lol not sure but if I was a stretching baby I'd probably be doing it because I was cramped in the womb for so long 😂😂😂

My Lil brother (now 21) did this, nothing was ever wrong with him...esp the back arching he did a lot...so cute I loved it
