hospitals and ultra sounds

So I'm 16 weeks  & I have gotten 1 ultra sound at 10 weeks and never got my first ultra sound pictures. I had this done at a hospital where I was sent and I go again for my anatomy scan February 3. How come I hadn't gotten pictures when I first went and will I get them when I find out the gender? My insurance covers everything so I don't know why the hospital wouldn't give me pictures.?? Is it a hospital thing ?
