what was it like seeing your baby for the first time

Question

I am just curious, can someone explain in detail what it is like to see your baby for the first time after birth? Not pregnant or TTC I just like watching birth vlogs and it just makes me so happy watching someone meet their baby. So I'm asking can you explain to the best of your ability what it is like? I can't imagine growing someone in my body for 9 months wondering what they are like and what they look like and being so excited and finally seeing their face. It's all just so interesting to me😌

I looked in the hospital fish tank cot and thought omg I've just given birth to my father! Yuk! Lol

I was completely shocked. Shocked that I had pooped a human being out of my vagina LOL

I was almost in shock, lol. I just watched the little guy get carried around the room, and when they brought him to me and I held him I  felt very...thankful. Thankful to suddenly have the beautiful little man in my life. I cried, my husband cried, the baby cried, lol

I suddenly felt like I had known her my whole life. All through pregnancy I had wondered what she looked like and when I saw her, I thought "of course that's what she looks like, how could I not know?"

Second thought was "she doesn't look like a Bethany" but thankfully she has grown in to her name and suits it really well now!

I was shocked like others have said. I mean I knew a baby was going to come out but seeing it for yourself is completely different. And then they layed him on my chest and I was just amazed. I can't say that I fell in love with him right away, that took a few weeks, but i was very protective of him

Fiercely protective. I had a csection so they didn't bring her over to me but I could look behind my shoulder a bit when they were seeing me up and see her. Made my husband follow them around to make sure she was ok.

I was a bit dumbfounded, to be honest. I felt like I should know this little guy, but yet, I'd never actually seen him before. It was bizarre for me. They just kind of plopped him in my arms and it was a weird feeling. It took very little time to fall completely in love with him. With a second child, I think I'd feel differently right off the bat. But being a new mom, it was so crazy. Like, this is my little human, yet I don't quite know how to feel about him.

I was amazed that she was real. It sounds nuts but that was main feeling at the time. We conceived our daughter via fertility treatments and had recurrent losses before her. So the whole pregnancy I was scared to be happy. I didn't want any baby stuff because I thought we would lose her too. For me going home from the hospital with her was the most emotional part. Even more than her birth.

I couldn't believe he was real (yes even though I definitely knew I was pregnant)! They placed him on my chest and all I could see was the top of his little head. I was too exhausted to move him so
That I could see his face, but I just kept thinking he was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I was also shocked he was a boy and didn't really believe it until I saw for myself.

Amazed ! Because I was anxious my entire pregnancy how my daughter would look ! Definitely cried lol
