If a family member is living with you for a year or so and brings in a piece of furniture to put into common place like family room would you allow it ?? Especially if the furniture does not match with the decor and looks out of place ??

If it was maybe a rise and recliner chair and they struggled to transfer and really needed it then yes. Otherwise no, it's just being silly.

Not if it didn't match, no. They could decorate their bedroom however they wanted but it would be my house after all and I would want to keep it the way I wanted it. If they didn't like it that's kind of too bad for them. (Especially if they were living in my home for free)

If it was an older relative I would maybe question it and tell them you feel like they are making decisions in your home but seriously? A 7yr old niece that's been living with u a yr or so?? I think you need to be realistic here. Is it long term? She's 7. Don't u want her to feel at home? And kids grow out of things so quickly she probably won't have it for long. If your worried about how your living room will look you need to adjust that thinking cause it isn't perfect when you have kids
