Thigh tattoos

As we all know, hitting your hip/ thigh on a corner hurts like no other... with that being said how is the pain when getting a thigh tattoo? I want one so bad but I don't want to get half way in and not be able to handle it. I know everyone feels tattoos different but I'm just looking for a general idea. I have one currently, but it's just on my foot.
