TMI: squeezed my nip.. is this a sign of lactation?

So I've been worried recently about being able to breastfeed (I had a reduction, had a skilled surgeon who knew my concerns). 
Im 36 weeks now - I've had this weird film on my nipples recently, like I can pick it off and it doesn't hurt but it's so weird..
I've been looking at message boards, someone said to squeeze it, I did and this clear liquid came out.. 
So is this a sign my breasts are getting ready for laceration?
Anyone else had this weird film? I don't think I'm leaking, it just came out when I squeezed.

It's colostrum, it is the beginnings of breast milk, but it doesn't always mean you'll be able to breast feed. Also squeezing is fine, I used to squeeze mine once in awhile just because lol. And I breast fed fine, no mastitis or clogged ducts.

That's a great sign.  Shit I squeeze mine out all the time. They hurt if I don't. This is also my second kid, so maybe that's why. I'm almost 40 weeks and been doing it since like 20 weeks.

Don't squeeze it, it's not good for you. Sadly, it's not an indication that you will lactate. Some women leak a lot, and can't produce much milk at all, while others don't leak and produce plenty. It's not a reliable indicator.

Breast augmentation shouldn't have an impact on whether you can breastfeed- I've seen it done many many times. They leave the nipple intact, along with the ducts, so there's so reason you can't. I never leaked and I breastfed  for 2.5 years. It's not always easy, but it's honestly the best thing in the world. I LOVED it.

Squeezing is fine. Some people actually express and save colostrum ahead of time in case there is an issue with breastfeeding so baby can still get all the benefits.
