Why is it hard for people to stare into other people's eyes while talking?

Makes me uncomfortable and anxious. Can't do it, but I'm working on it

Okay as someone who can't look people in the eye I can definitely say it's not because they are ugly or I'm lying(people actually tend to look others in the eye when lying to convince better btw) it's because I am just uncomfortable looking people in the eye. I am not particularly shy either. It's just a very intimate thing to me.

I have no problem. I always look at people in the eyes. Been with my guy 4 years and he looks at me in the eyes as well. Sometimes it's due to being shy. Having something to hide. Guilty conscience. Trying to think of a lie. Them looking at your boobs when they talk to you. Which I want to poke them in the eye for lol. Maybe it's social awkwardness or anxiety who knows. I can't answer for them.

I can usually do it, UNTIL I start realizing that Im doing it and then I get weird and feel like Im staring too much and it makes me anxious.

Sometimes they are shy or they think the person is ugly and cant stand to look at them. Who knows.
