Best Place for a a IV ?

Where is the best place for an IV? 
Hand? 
Wrist? 
Arm?

By best place I mean most comfy / less painful

I'd say arm. They put my IV in my hand twice and I basically couldn't use that hand at all which was very annoying.

Well, if you have difficult veins like me, anywhere they can get one. It took 10 tries to get an IV in when I was induced :/

I always get a weird feeling when I have an IV in my arm. It makes my hand feel like it's tight, and that I can't move it..

Arm! I got mine just above my wrist on the top side of my arm and it was so much more comfortable than the one I had in my hand, plus I still actually had use of both of my hands

Arm for me. I had to have a blood draw once in hospital. They'd put a canula in for if I needed an iv in A&E and then flushed it. I had to have blood taken from my hand.....ouch!!

Arm, hands down. I have multiple IVs and monitors strapped on me during delivery, because I am high risk. I have had IVs place in every location indicated above. The location on my arm closest to the inner part of my elbow is the least painful for me.

I had to have jaw surgery and they did it in my hand and it was much nicer than in my arm. It went in a lot easier and it didn't bruise like they do when they do it in my arm.
