Can you live of being a CNA?

I'm thinking about doing CNA. I don't know what I want to do right now, I just want a starter career. I don't think college is for me. If you save up money before becoming a CNA. Can you survive off of it ?  I have been out high school for 7 months now. I really just want a trade.

There's tons of other things you could do! Two of my friends went on to be a CNA and they hated it. It's honestly a job for a certain type of person. You have to honestly love the work and helping the elderly, meds, feeding, changing diapers, giving them baths, lifting them, it's hard work. They didn't enjoy it so they both went on to be a dental assistant and they make more money doing that and it was a 9 month program!

I'm also looking to do CNA. Might depend on where you live. I'm in Oregon and starting is $13. Here you can go back after a year to do CNA2 which starts at $17 an hour some places $20 an hour. Then usually you can go back to school to be a licensed practicing nurse (LPN) which pays more, not sure how long school is for that maybe 1 to 2 years then after that you can do RN after a few years of classes. I think if you work in the hospital they may pay for some of the classes.

I was a CNA before becoming an EMT. It brought home enough for me to be able to live (pay rent, food, needs) but I didn't have extra cash left over. Long hours brought it the cash. I think at the stage you're in right now, CNA will be fine

At most CNA agencies here in Florida the average pay is like 10.50/11. My moms private so she doesn't go through an agency and gets paid about $15. Like someone else said, you can go to a year or so of schooling and be an LPN and their pay is like 17-20 I believe. Depending on your state. It's a good starter but it can be difficult so try to enroll in school soon so you don't have to do it for too long.
