what's going on? could it be implantation?

I had my period last month on Dec. 13-17 and yesterday Jan. 11 I had very light spotting once with mild cramps and I had no spotting thru out the day nor today .. I took a test yesterday and it came out negative.. any experiences similar to this? Could I be pregnant? We got pregnant last year 2016 in January but lost the bay in April ☹️ hopefully we are.. Update:
I started spotting again.. not a lot but I don't know if it's the start of my period. I guess we'll have to wait and see
