Question

Of my artwork? I want to be a tattoo artist. I just started drawing again after not drawing at all for 3 years. I'm trying to build my portfolio for a future tattoo apprenticeship. Do you think I have potential or should I give up and pursue something more realistic? I am scared of investing a lot of time and money into something if I don't have enough talent/skills (Just a few pieces of my artwork shown, some finished, some in progress)

You have lots of talent but I'd add more 'tattoo' type things to your portfolio, I don't think what you have there is overly common for people to want to have tattooed? But regardless you are very talented 😃 and you'll build it up in no time.

My cousin has a very similar style to you when it comes to art work. She has been eprenticing at a tattoo shop for 2 years now and her work has definitely become more "tattoo"-like. She is starting her own business now. Please do not let anybody get in the way of what you want to do, you have so much talent. Especially for someone who hasn't been doing this religiously. I love your art work.

Honestly, no. I don't think your art is good enough to be a tattoo artist. Maybe you could choose another career that has something to do with art. There are a lot of flaws in each drawing that you've done and it's on a flat surface. Imagine what they'd look like on uneven surfaces of skin. I just don't see it working out, sorry.

You are certainly very talented, considering you havent drawn for 3 years your art looks fab for someone whos been on a break!  Carry on practicing though just to sharpen up on those skills, maybe try focusing on the 'typical' tattoo designs like dragons/fairies/flowers/anchors/birds etc. Good luck, youre brilliant! 😊

What money does being a tattoo artist require you to spend? Like equipment? Start apprenticing at a shop or parlour and have a job to save on the side. And don't stop drawing. I like your artwork but at this stage I would not get a tattoo from you. But don't ever be afraid to chase your dream. It's not gonna wait for you, you gotta get it.

You pursue that shit!!! You go in to that shop and hold your head so high! Let them know you want to learn how to tattoo as well as perfect your art! Don't give up your dreams, you are talented and every talent can be perfected by practice and a good mentor! Xo!

I think the last 2 learn towards tattooing, but the first ounces work better as drawings
