vacuum or forceps?

Which would you ladies prefer for your birthing plan and why?

I read an article once about a women literally hearing her baby's skull shattering when they tried to use forceps during her delivery. It's probably a very rare case, but I won't let a doctor come near me with forceps, I'd rather they take me in for a c-section. I don't think I'd even be okay with a vacuum delivery, it would just freak me out way too much I think 😔

I was not really given an option with my 3rd I was told you get one push with a vacuum or we are taking you in for an emergency csecection.

I would leave it up to the doctor or midwife. He or she might be more comfortable with one of the other or more experience with one of the other.

Just an fyi I have been told (by my mom, not a doc or anything) that babies that have forceps used on them, have a higher chance of cradle death (is that the term?)Not sure how accurate that info is, but its something worth checking out!

I don't believe those are neeed unless medically necessary. Same thing as someone else posted, I was informed you are pushing with the vacuum or going in for an emergency c-section. The baby's heart rate dropped too low & they wanted him out asap. For my second delivery with my daughter I didn't need anything, just pushed & she was out within 15 minutes.

I had vacuum.  His HR was dropping and my BP started going crazy.  I found out later how worried my Dr was.  Where I delivered they get 3 pulls and after that it's emergency c section.   He came on the 3rd pull.  He had a bump on his after that was gone 8 hours later. No bruising, nothing.  I was very grateful.

NEVER vacuum! They did that to my daughter and she had layers of skin missing, bruises, and hematomas! It was awful!
