did you let people take pictures after delivery?

My mil said something about how she can't wait to take pictures of us as a family and of the new baby. I'm just a little uncomfortable, I want to have pictures for the memories but I just don't want a bunch of cameras in my face....

I had a friend present the entire time and honestly as weird and uncomfortable as you think you'll feel you honestly won't even notice them being there with a camera, and I'm so glad I asked her to do this for me because they are personal yet so incredibly beautiful and perfect. She took hundreds & I cry every time I look at them. My son is 10 months old now and it's incredible being able to go back to that day and have the memories captured .

You'll want them. Believe me. I wish I had more. The ones I do have are so special to me. We didn't share them on social media and we don't have them hanging on the wall, but looking at them now and again really brings back the memories of that day we became a family!

My aunt is a photographer and I let her come in and take pictures as soon as I was cleaned up. I love the pictures. They're my favorite ones

Even if you hate how you look, but keep them for your own sake and viewing.

We took a quick few photos with his phone of baby when he was born but that's it. It's up to you and your comfort level.

I am glad others took pictures. In the craziness of adjusting after birth, I only took a couple of baby and they were not good. I love the pictures my sister took, definitely not professional, but they are the only pictures I have of me holding baby and of all 3 of us. I'm glad I have them.

I really want pictures of my husband and I holding our baby for the first time! But all of my family lives out of state and they aren't coming till after the birth and I don't really like my MIL so she's the last person I want in the room lol

It's your birth and your recovery- it's your right to say "no photos please."
You can let your nurses know too and sometimes they will help to make sure cameras are not brought in. They're very busy in hospitals, so don't count 100% on it- but if it's in your birth plan that you don't want photos- they will do their best

I had people take pictures with my camera but the only person who showed up with a camera is my mil & I told her I literally just delivered the baby I don't want to be in any pictures. She still took some of me so when she showed up at my house with them I took them from her & told her I asked you to not take any of me & not only so I look like a hot mess but I was totally oblivious to them.
