Kombucha while pregnant?

Question

Do any of you mamas drink kombucha while pregnant? I've heard good and bad about it during pregnancy. It is fermented tea, but the amount of alcohol in it results to almost nothing. I love to drink them but I'm not sure if I should while I'm pregnant!

It's usually not pasteurized and that's a big no no while pregnant. So I would avoid it.

I drank so much kombucha and kefir before getting pregnant. I continued drinking kefir but stopped kombucha because there is so much conflicting information out there about it.

I never stopped! It helps me feel better and helps with acid reflux. I don't drink a full bottle at a time. I have sips throughout the day and finish a bottle within two days, three the most. I drank it before all the time and am a big believer in the health benefits  of fermented foods. I haven't had my baby yet, but have had an easy pregnancy and no problems so far. I'm sure she'll be good and full of good bacteria!

I've heard that if you were drinking it regularly before conceiving, that you can countinue while pregnant. I wouldn't start after conceiving though because of the new bacteria that will be introduced into your system.

I've wondered the same but have avoided them just because of the trace amount of alcohol. No alcohol is better so another few months isn't going to hurt to wait
