What position do you plan on being in while giving birth?

I've been reading up on birth positions and found out that the best way to give birth is to squat and let gravity and contractions work the baby down. I was interested in knowing what you other mama's plan on doing and what you think is easier for you 😊❤

What ever I feel like doing at the time. Obviously if I end up with an epidural I will be on my bck though.

When I gave birth, I did a few different things to labor. I squatted (both in and out of a birthing pool), was on all fours, and then when I got tired I laid down for a little. I went in the birthing pool twice and the was nice then I got out when I needed to push and gave birth laying down on my back.

I had my first 2 laying on my back and they shot out like rockets. I think being upright or walking while in labor is a good idea but when its time to push I'm more comfortable on my back so the drs have a clear view and better access in case something happens.

In water and in a squatting position... if at all possible lol or what ever is most comfortable

If I don't have to have a c-section I'm hoping for squatting or standing. But water birth would be best.

I had a dream I would be leaning over a stump in the woods and squatting XD

It really depends on your labour. If you get an epidural, if you are susceptible to infection & have an iv, how often you need to be monitored & how often baby needs to be monitored. Also you're hospitals liability policies. My hospital allows you to labour however you want as long as everything is going good, but as soon as it's time to push you have to be on your back.

I'd be down for all fours. But I'll deliver in a hospital and I'm pretty sure due to liability and such they'll make me deliver on my back

I was just told the other day that the hospital I have to deliver at doesn't allow any position other than laying on back ☹️️
