Can I wear a sports bra under gown?

Im not breast feeding and would be more comfortable wearing a loosing fitting lace sports bra type under my gown. Do hospitals let you do that?

The only potential issue I can see with that is if you suddenly require an emergency c-section, I believe it would have to come off. I'd go in planning on wearing it just double check with your nurse when you're getting changed :)

I wore a sports bra when I was in labor with my second child. My hospital said I could keep a bra on with my gown but that was it of course.

I'm gonna use one of the bandeau tops, that way I'll be able to pull it down all the way to breast feed easily & for skin to skin. Most of my sports bras have adjustment straps and I don't want the plastic up on my daughter when I'm trying to hold her close. Plus it keeps the girls in order 😜

What's the reason for cutting it off or removing it for a csection. I was hoping to wear one and also in the shower if someone needs to help ? Can you refuse help!

I wasn't allowed to wear one, but different hospitals may have different guidelines.

I wore a sports bra through my entire labor even while i was in the shower, i just told the midwife i wanted to keep some dignity and if worse case scenario i needed a c-section they can cut it off me as i had packed spare ones and she was completely fine with it

I couldn't imagine wearing a bra during labor. The first thing I do when I get home it take off my bra.
