positive induction stories?

Hi everyone! I'm 39+5 and my doc is scheduling an induction for next week around 40+6 just in case. She won't let me go past 41. I'm hoping things start moving in the next week, but would love to hear any POSITIVE induction stories to ease my anxious mind! Anyone want to share with me? Thanks so much

I was induced at 40 and 6 too. I won't lie, it was painful and the pain came on quickly and strongly. Saying that, I managed to give birth without an epi which is what I had hoped for. My labour was 7 hours long, the pushing was the easiest part in my opinion. Now that my son is nearly 2 I've forgotten all about the pain! Good luck, you'll be fine 😊

I was induced at 36 weeks due to medical issues from start to finish it was about 30 hours long I was dilated at 1cm when I came in  so they used the foley catheter to get me dilated more about 5 hours later it feel out and i was at 4cm (I didn't have any pain other than the cervix checks as of this point) then they started pitocion my daughter didn't take well to the pitocion so they had to stop it then I started contracting on my own the pain started getting worse but I was able to breath threw the contractions I felt a lot of pressure I told the nurse she told me it was probably time to push it was so scared because I didn't get the epidural yet! Turns out I was at 7cm so I quickly got the epidural and seems like everything sped up from there! I became 10 cm pushed for about a hour and they had to use the vacuum to help her out. I felt like I had a awesome labor and birth and wouldnt have it any other way!! Just make sure you drink tons of water while you can! I was allowed to eat and drink up until my contractions became regular! Good lick!!

I was induced with both my pregnancies. First was exactly on 40 weeks. I was 1cm dilated and 75% effaced went in had three rounds of cervadil over night. By morning 8:00am my water broke on its own. I was having contractions but nothing painful until my water broke. After that the pain was insane, started pit, by 7:00pm I was rdy to push (got epi around 4:00). Pushed for 58 minutes and had my first son.

Second I went in at 39 weeks 4 cm dilated 50% effaced. Started pit at 4:00pm with antibiotics for my GBS. I was having contractions but the external monitor wasn't detecting them so they broke my water to use an internal monitor. Got my epi around 6:00pm. Had to call the CRNA back in to adjust my epi since it was only working on one side at that same time I told my nurse "I think I need to make a BM." She checked me I was 6cm, as she was checking me I had another contraction she said "wait..." I went from a 6cm to 10cm in two contractions. She called my OB. Who yelled in the phone... "don't let her push!" Ha! Mean while the CRNA came to fix my epi and she made it so strong that I could not longer even feel the urge to push so we all sat around laughing (we are co-workers) in walks my OB and he said ok. Let's go. 3 pushes later (literally 3 minutes) my second son was born.

I loved my inductions. They were in sure more painful than if I went into labor naturally but given my situation it was nice to know when exactly I would be having my children. Totally plan to do induction again when we get pregnant with #3.

Aww dear don't let ladies scare you. I had to be induced to very bad preeclampsia. I was 38+3 and he was came out healthy and perfect. I was given the pitocin, got my epi at four cm and had my boy three hours later. So all in all it was a easy progress. But it is different for everyone. Don't stress yourself out and take deep calming breaths. I may need an induction for my second baby bc I'm 4 cm at 35 weeks praying we make it a few more before my water breaks. Good luck mama relax you can do this!
