Go for it, I know towards the end of a pregnancy most hospitals cut them off because your not supposed to have them during labor. But since you're only 9 weeks you shouldn't worry. Just make sure they use clean tools and don't rush because an infection is the last thing you need.

As far as I know it's safe, but my nails have been growing like crazy- I'd have to be in the salon at least once a week for them to look ok.
