epidural?

Question

Have any of you had an epirdural and if so what was the worse part during it? I'm debating on getting one when I go into labor. A lot of people say it's just the numbing needle that you feel but I'm wondering on everyone else's experience. Comment below with your stories and if you think it's worth it!!!!!

I found no part of receiving it painful, but it was uncomfortable for a moment. However, out of everything my husband witnessed her says the epidural was the worst and he almost passed out! 😂😳

How many of you have had back issues prior or after the epidural?

The epidural took all my pains away....I don't remember the needle from my first I just know that they told me it would take 15-30 mins to kick in and I was so exhausted from being awake during contractions soon as the pain subsided I was out cold. They gave me a button to push to keep the fluids flowing through my body at first I was just randomly pushing it so that I wouldn't feel anything. When I had my daughter I pushed 3 times I didn't cry I was smiling the whole time my vag didn't even hurt the days after...but then again I have a high pain tolerance. The worse part was when after they tell you to get up and try to walk I could barely move my feet the nurse practically carried me to the bathroom

I asked the same question and most women told me that they didn't feel the needle and the epidural was the best thing during their labor. When i got mine I was having a hard time staying still because of contractions. I definitely felt the needle in my back and I even screamed when the anesthesiologist put it in. I ended up having a reaction to it and started puking and shaking uncontrollably so I ended up having a C section. I'm sorry I don't mean to scare you. Just sharing my experience.

The worst part was removing the sticky tape after the birth and removing the epidural. Leaves a residue on your back. I don't remember any pain except contractions. :)

To me, it's no worse than the numbing shots in your mouth at the dentist or the rhogam shot in your rear (if you had to get one) the hard part is staying still during a contraction - which is super distracting from anything they are doing anyways. 👍🏽

The worst part for me was trying to stay still when my contractions were just on top of each other. I don't remember the needle but then I'm not scared of injections and I just wanted pain relief.

I got my epidural way too soon because the dr thought I would have my daughter at a certain time and that didn't happen. Anyway felt like a really bad bee sting but I know it was worth it instead of feeling the contractions the part I hated was the feeling of the medicine go through my spine. It was cold and I hated that part. I got the epidural at 10:30 am and didn't have her till 6:26... so I had to lay in bed allll day losing my mind. I'll wait longer next time.

I was having contractions 30 seconds apart and I was only dilated to a 1 so I ended up getting a C-section but I got an epidural for the C-section and the relief was amazing from the contractions and honestly there wasn't anything bad about it the numbing wore off really fast and it took away the pain!
