When should we announce?

Question

My SO and I are trying to figure out when to share the big news via FB(all our family will then know). I will be 12w next wed(feb 4)but I don't have my second OB appt until the 13th(hoping to hear the heartbeat). My husband deploys for a while and leaves before my 2nd appt. Should we do it while he's still here at 12w or wait until after I hopefully hear the heartbeat and he's gone? He has no idea what we should do. I guess I would like some opinions on the situation. Thank you!!

We told people at 8 weeks. It's our 3rd so I was starting to show already. Our last pregnancy ended with a miscarriage and everyone knew. I wouldn't have changed that for anything. We had so much support from family and friends while we were suffering. I don't know how I would have made it through otherwise.

We announced at 10w after our first ultrasound. I'd say you're fairly safe at 12w.. If it were me I'd rather do it when hubby was around before he leaves. :) just me though

We are waiting to tell ppl until we hear the heartbeat. We just want to be safe!

I am part of the consensus. We had our 12 week Monday and heard the heartbeat (awesome!!!). I asked the dr what she thought and she said to go right ahead everything looked good. We are slowly spreading the news. A Facebook won't be made until 14 weeks. You should announce when you are ready. It took that appointment for me to feel ready.

I'll be 12w on Tuesday, and we are waiting until after my appointment on the 6th before we announce. I want to hear the heart beat before I tell the whole world.

I would wait until appt. but I'm paranoid like that. I'm currently 10w and my next appt will be at 12w after that we will do our announcement (close family and friends already know) and I have already heard the heartbeat, I just want to wait
