SUIDS and SIDS

So often I am seeing back and forth about suffocating not being SIDS and how something like a crib bumper or co-sleeping can't cause SIDS. Yes, there is the ultra scary, you did everything 'right' and they just quit breathing and died SIDS, but on top of that there are Sudden UNEXPECTED Infant Deaths every day that can be prevented.  It's sad when the parents didn't expect or understand that something made a SUID more likely. Please quit arguing over the semantics and recognize that there are things known to be hazardous (soft bedding, sleeping in a bed with others) and things that can help prevent even the portion of SUID that we can't currently explain (sleeping on back, ceiling fans, pacifiers). Coming down off the soap box now.
