Epidural.... what's it like?

Does it hurt? Is it super weird not feeling your lower half? FTM and curious.... thanks!

Um mine was freaking glorious. Little pinch then nothing and no pain! My birth was so relaxed and laid back since I had one! 10/10 will definitely do again!

I have a ton of birthing amnesia so I don't remember the procedure that well but I was so nervous. There was an intense shock down my left leg and that leg went completely dead thru out labor. Normally that would totally freak me out but I was so focused on giving birth it wasn't a big deal. So happy I had it because I had 4 major contractions before it kicked in and omfg 😰 no way I could have done 8 hours of contractions.

The epidural did hurt me a little, but the contractions I was having before hurt so much more! It is so worth it!

Yes it absolutely hurt, she kept moving the thing to get it positioned correctly.  I could still feel my lower half, just not the pain. The weirdest part was actually the catheter.

I don't remember the epidural hurting. What I do remember is the excruciating contractions before it. Get the epidural. Remember, nobody gets an award for not getting one.

The worst part is actually sitting up for the needle. Having contractions and sitting bent over is the hardest part. Needle didn't hurt at all. Nothing compared to the pain of contractions! I highly recommend the epidural! 👍🏼 good luck momma 😊
