Gasping - play or real?

Question

The past couple days my LO has been making a gasping noise. It sounds really scary but he only does it when he's playing, which makes me think he might have just discovered a new noise. We also have dogs so I'm hoping he's not developing an allergy. Just wondering if anyone else's 6 month old does this.

He was JUST at the doctor Wednesday for his well visit and everything looked healthy.

My LO coughs all the time. At first I was nervous but now I can tell she's just playing.

My son does this when he's happy or thinks something is funny. I think it's just a sound of delight 😊

I have a video of my son doing this and took it to the doctor to watch. It's called Periodic Breathing and it's normal. He said sometimes they breath like they just ran a marathon during this age. As long as baby isn't turning blue, it should be fine.
